Hospital Care

Hospital Admissions

In the unfortunate situation that you require admission to a hospital, you can be admitted to the hospital of your choice. If you are seen in our office and we determine that you need hospital care, we will get you admitted directly to the hospital and avoid a stop in the emergency room.

Hospitalists

With the advances in office based care, most hospitalized patients today are very ill. They often require several specialists and services such as physical or respiratory therapy. They often have conditions that may require attention every few hours. All San Antonio hospitals now have “Hospitalists” on staff and on-site who are dedicated to coordinating this specialized care. These physicians care only for hospital patients. They have no outside office and spend their entire day tending only to you and other hospitalized patients.

Because we want you to have the best care possible during your hospital inpatient stay, we will be in direct contact with the physician hospitalist caring for you. At discharge, we insist that you have a follow-up appointment with us within 3-7 days in order to transition your care to an outpatient setting.

Providing the Best Care

Although Dr. Davis made hospital rounds daily for over 20 years, she believes  that the hospitalist system is more efficient, safer and permits her to have more office appointment slots available. The use of hospitalists allows me to provide the best care for you and your family.
